Working Principle

Card peeling machine: The log is clamped and rotated by the clamping shaft, while the knife bed feeds along the axial direction of the log, and the knife cuts on the surface of the rotating log to peel the log into continuous thin wood slices. This peeling machine is suitable for processing logs with larger diameters and longer lengths.

Cardless peeling machine: The log is rotated by friction, usually by clamping the log by upper and lower pressure rollers, and the log is rotated by the friction between the pressure roller and the log, and the knife also feeds for cutting. It is more suitable for processing small-diameter wood, short logs and some irregularly shaped wood.


Equipment structure

Card peeling machine: The structure is relatively complex, mainly including the clamping shaft system, the knife bed system, the feeding system, the transmission system, etc. The clamping shaft is its key component, which is used to fix and drive the log to rotate, and the accuracy and strength of the clamping shaft are required to be high.

Cardless peeling machine: The structure is relatively compact, mainly composed of upper and lower pressure roller devices, a knife holder device, a feeding device and a transmission device. The design and adjustment of the pressure roller plays an important role in the processing quality and efficiency of the cardless peeling machine.


Processing characteristics

Card peeling machine: It has high processing accuracy and can peel out wood chips with uniform thickness and smooth surface. It is suitable for occasions with high requirements for veneer quality, such as high-end furniture manufacturing, plywood production, etc. However, for some curved or irregularly shaped logs, pretreatment or special clamping may be required, otherwise it will affect the peeling quality.

Cardless peeling machine: It has strong adaptability to logs and can process wood of various shapes and sizes, including bent wood, short wood, etc. During the processing, due to the lack of the restriction of the clamping shaft, the rotation of the log is more flexible and can better adapt to the natural form of the wood. However, its processing accuracy is slightly lower than that of the card peeling machine, and the thickness tolerance of the veneer may be slightly larger.


Production efficiency

Card peeling machine: Generally speaking, the production efficiency of the card peeling machine is higher, especially when processing large logs. Since the clamping shaft can stably drive the log to rotate, the cutting speed can be relatively fast, which is suitable for large-scale wood processing and production.

Cardless peeling machine: Although cardless peeling machine has advantages in processing small-diameter wood and irregular wood, because it relies on friction to drive the log to rotate, the log may slip during the cutting process, affecting the cutting speed and efficiency. Therefore, when processing wood of the same specifications, the production efficiency of cardless peeling machine is usually lower than that of carded peeling machine.


Application field

Card peeling machine: widely used in plywood factories, veneer factories, furniture factories, etc., for the production of high-quality veneers, such as mahogany, oak, walnut and other high-grade wood veneers, which are often used to make veneers and decorative boards for high-grade furniture.

Cardless peeling machine: widely used in some small wood processing factories, individual processing households and occasions with high requirements for wood utilization, such as the production of ordinary building templates, packaging boards, etc. It can make full use of small-diameter wood and scraps to reduce production costs.
